It combines rigorous classroom learning with a mandatory 45-day industry placement, providing students with both the theoretical grounding and practical experience required for a career in law.
What is a T Level?
T Levels are a government-endorsed qualification equivalent to three A-Levels, designed to bridge the gap between academic study and professional practice. The Legal Services pathway is specifically tailored to prepare students for roles across the legal sector — from law firms and barristers' chambers to in-house legal teams and legal technology companies.

My placement at Tradesconnect extended well beyond the mandatory 45-day requirement — spanning two full years of substantive legal and operational work. Tradesconnect is a digital platform connecting tradespeople and businesses, and I worked directly on the legal infrastructure underpinning its operations.
Working on the legal side of a live technology platform gave me exposure to the practical realities of legal operations in a fast-moving business environment. I was involved in reviewing documentation, supporting compliance processes, and contributing to the operational integrity of the platform — all while working alongside the team to integrate AI tools into legal workflows.

Reviewing and assessing contracts, terms of service, and platform agreements to ensure accuracy and legal compliance.

Using AI tools integrated within the Tradesconnect platform to support and streamline legal processes — from document analysis to workflow automation.

Assisting with compliance monitoring and ensuring platform operations aligned with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.

Conducting targeted legal research to support the team's decision-making on platform policies and operational matters.

Working with AI in Legal Practice
A defining feature of my time at Tradesconnect was the opportunity to work with AI tools as part of day-to-day legal operations. Rather than viewing AI as a future consideration, I experienced first-hand how it is already reshaping the way legal teams work — from accelerating document review to supporting compliance monitoring. This exposure has given me a practical understanding of AI's role in modern legal practice that goes beyond theoretical knowledge, and it informs my conviction that the most effective legal professionals of the future will be those who can work fluently alongside these tools.
